About Zion Orphanage
Founded in 1899, Zion Orphanage is the world's oldest continuously running Jewish orphanage. We provide more than 200 orphaned, homeless and disadvantaged children and youth, ages 3-22, with the highest standards of a warm, stable environment – driven by our belief in the greatness of every human being.Click here to learn more
In Israel today, tens of thousands of families are displaced from their homes, due to Hamas missiles in the south and Hezbollah missiles in the north.
A significant percentage of these Jewish war refugees suffer upheaval and trauma. Children are especially vulnerable.
As leading childcare and youth specialists, Zion Orphanage is recognized by the Israeli Social Welfare Agency as a safe haven for young war refugees.
The situation is urgent.
Our dedicated team of social workers, therapists and teachers has been working around the clock to give displaced kids a safe and nurturing living environment – in our acclaimed “Mishpachtone” family units, and our newly-opened “Center” that provides emergency housing and 24/7 care for boys and girls ages 3-7.
Our multi-dimensional approach provides education, diverse therapies and top medical care – to help foster a resilient recovery for these tender Gaza War refugees.
